Tenebrae III

In association with CarriageWorks.

The Tenebrae trilogy that left indelible memories of 2005 and 2006 finds its conclusion in the lofty industrial spaces of the splendid arts centre CarriageWorks.

Based on Gesualdo’s Responsories for Holy Week, this acclaimed dance collaboration revolves around the universal themes of humanity, sacrifice and death. The third and last work delves into the deepest depths of despair, yet the music reaches its highest point of transcendence.

Directing this challenging work is Shaun Parker who startled audiences with Blue Love and This show is about people.

Tenebrae III

"...the dancers interacted with simple, evolving gestures of tenderness, care, anguish and the human things which warm our lives against the abyss... structured in ancient ritual but transformed by imagination. These performances provide a benchmark for artistic collaboration and deserve wide exposure."
