First performed in Paris in 1688, is a gripping story with political intrigue and the love between two rivals, that unfolds through Charpentier’s powerfully emotional music. Swedish tenor Anders Dahlin will sing David and Sara Macliver, Jonathan. David Parkin, Operatunity winner, in his first role as Samuel. The chorus will be Cantillation and the Orchestra of the Antipodes, under conductor Antony Walker, will play on instruments of the French baroque.
