The wedding of Ruth Kilpatrick and Mungo McCall was held on Saturday, January 10 at All Souls Anglican Church in Leichhardt. The Song Company performed with the addition of former full-time soprano and friend Nicole Thomson. Needless to say, Ruth did not sing along except in the congregational songs!
Musical items were by Monteverdi and Palestrina, with texts taken from the Old Testament book of the Song of Songs, and there was also the premier of a new version of ‘Agnus Dei’ which Ruth had written for the occasion. At the reception Richard Black gave a warm speech on behalf of the Song Company, expressing his best wishes and acknowledging the significance of the Song Company in Ruth’s working and personal life and vice-versa.
The sun was out for a garden party at the rear terrace of the Sydney College of the Arts in Rozelle, and there was even a magician with a fluffy white rabbit for the kids!
Ruth expresses her gratitude and thanks for those who have showed her such generous support and well-wishes on her marriage.
