Ruth McCall

(nee Kilpatrick)

Ruth graduated with Honours from the Elder Conservatorium of Music at the University of Adelaide in 1995 and was involved in the Adelaide music scene as a singer, accompanist, and member of the Adelaide Chamber Singers before joining the Song Company as soprano in 1996. As well as being a full-time member of the Song Company, Ruth has performed with a variety of music ensembles around Sydney.

Ruth has toured in over 17 countries with the Song Company, taking part in music festivals around the world, as well as performing regularly for primary school children in Australia in association with the Musica Viva in Schools program. Highlights in recent years include singing the part of a barbie doll in Matthew Hindson’s What that spell? with the Aurora festival, Couperin’s Lecons de Tenebrae with The Marais Project, and solos for voice by John Cage with the Song Company. Ruth has an Associate Diploma in piano and has written vocal arrangements for the Company and other ensembles which have been performed both in Australia and overseas, as well as being recorded on several CDs. Ruth has been an active member of the music team at St Barnabas Church Broadway for the past 13 years.
