Before joining The Song Company in 1997, Mark spent four years at the Queensland Conservatorium in Brisbane under Greg Massingham and regularly worked for Opera Queensland understudying and performing a range of roles. In 1993, Mark joined the chorus of the Queensland Lyric Opera, (now Opera Queensland), covering principal roles. Performances with the QLO included Cosi fan Tutte, Lucia di Lammermoor, Eugene Onegin, Rigoletto, Parsifal, Tosca, and Carmen. He toured with the company’s production of Don Giovanni to Cairns and other Queensland regional centres. Whilst keeping links with his musical family in Cairns alive, he regularly appears in concerts and oratorio performances around Sydney.
